It seems like everyone has spilled coffee on their carpet at one time or another.

In today’s society, we can’t drive down the block without seeing a Starbucks.  We are surrounded on all sides with coffee. We roll out of bed and just have to get our fix, our drug of choice COFFEE.  We can’t get through our day without it.  So we roll out of bed dragging our feet to the shower.  The hot water doesn’t help if only you had 9 more hours to sleep.  Great now my head hurts. But as you enter the kitchen you see a beautiful site.  Its shiny black surface beckons you to come closer.  Oh, the sweet nectar of life that is contained in those single serving cups.  30 seconds has never taken so long. But here it is your steaming hot cup of life itself.

It seems we can’t live without it, we need out super veranda caramel chocolate molcolisious coffee every day.  It’s no wonder how much of this delicious liquid ends up everywhere but in our mouth. What ends up on the floor could cure the thirst of a third world country.  When your coffee does end up on the carpet what do we do?  We stair at the stain on our pristine carpet and wonder how in the world are we going to get that out.

We end up under the kitchen sink pulling random chemicals out and trying in vain to get the coffee out of the carpet.

Stop the madness it doesn’t need to be this hard.

Take a deep breath and slow down.  The stain is there and it’s not going to get any worse in the next 10 minutes.  However, if you panic and start spraying random chemicals on the coffee stain you may end up with a permanently damaged piece of carpet.  I have seen everything from bleach to a big hole in the carpet after this type of crusade to destroy this stain.

Don’t panic: Removing coffee from carpet is easy.

I know you have always heard that coffee is super hard to remove.  Sure its hard, when your only advise, is aunt Shirly giving you her secret formula for removing this stain.  It is amazing how much faith we put into these home remedies.  I mean I understand you want it gone and are at a loss as to how so we ask everyone that we know and a few that we don’t.  Then sadly we head to Facebook, Pinterest, and youtube in search of answers from the almighty internet.  Oh, the horrors that lay in wait for you on youtube. I don’t blame you (you don’t know what you don’t know).

I will tell you a secret that your local carpet cleaner is not going to want me to tell you.  Truth be told many cleaners that are less than amazing don’t know how to remove coffee stains very well.  There is a cleaner available to you that will remove a coffee stain from your carpet with almost no work at all.  In fact, if it is just black coffee with no added cream or sugar it will be as simple as spraying this product down on the stain and walking away.  I know too good to be true, but it is. I have removed thousands of coffee spots from carpet using this very same product.

Enough already just tell me how to get it out already

I know I feel your pain.  So here it is. The product you will need to get these spots out is called Stain Magic.  And trust me this product is magic. Nothing works better than Stain Magic to remove a coffee stain from carpet.  Now I know what you are probably thinking.  WOW, that’s expensive.  Yes, it is expensive, however, you will be able to use this product to remove more than just coffee.  It will also remove tea, wine, blood, and fruit juice stains just as efficiently.  So yes this product is pricey but it is much cheaper than paying a pro to come out and remove it for you.  And once you have it you can use it on many other things so it’s not going to go to waste.  Another option would be a product from the same company called Urine Stain Remover.  I know, that is even more money but you get a gallon of product so if you have pet stains buy this product and you can use it on the pet stains as well a coffee, tea, wine, and fruit juice, etc. So you decide which product is best for you.

Yes, I know you don’t have this product in your home at the moment.   Don’t worry the coffee stain on your carpet is not going to get any worse after it is dry.  Stain Magic works just as well (actually better) after the stain is dry. So if you have a black coffee spill don’t worry just let it dry and get the product then treat it.  If your stain has cream, sugar, or other additives rinse those out and then let it dry.

Now I know what your thinking.  You said that black coffee was super easy, what about my coffee?  It is far from black, In fact, I’m not even sure it is really coffee anymore.  Its ok, it will still work but you will need to do a little more work before you can wave your magic wand.

So before we get into the not so black coffee lets cover the easy stuff first.

If you have spilled black coffee on your beautiful white carpet (or any other color).

First:  put on your gloves.  Don’t neglect this step this cleaning product will sting your hands so wear your gloves.  If you do get it on your hands wash them thoroughly there will be no lasting damage.

Second:  Put a clean spray nozzle onto your bottle of Stain One and spray it on the coffee stain getting it thoroughly wet.  It doesn’t need to be soaked but make sure it is very damp. After you spray the stain rub it into the carpet.  You can use anything for this (in fact the bottom of the bottle will work fine).

Third:  Walk away.  That’s it your done it will fade out within several hours.  If any color is left the next day simply spray it again.

Now for the not so black coffee

If you are like most people you but “things” in your coffee.  In this case, you have what is called a compound stain.  That is simply a stain that includes more than one item in the stain such as cream, sugar, caramel, chocolate, who knows what else is in there.  If that is the case what we need to do first before removing the coffee stain from the carpet remove the other things from the carpet first.

This can be done using your chosen carpet cleaner spray followed by a thorough rinse with fresh water.  If you have a carpet cleaning unit just rinse the stain with hot water. If you don’t have a unit like that then you can use a shop vac to do the same thing.  Simply pour hot water on the stain and immediately vacuum it back out with the shop va (do this several times). Then after you have removed the other things in the carpet you will be left with a tan coffee stain on the carpet.  Now just spray the Stain One on the carpet work it into the fibers and you are done. If there is any color left the next day spray it again.

So now the next time you get a coffee stain you don’t need to panic because you have a magic formula.  Remember the key to getting any stain out of your carpet is first not to panic. There is a way to get most spots and stains out.  I have seen too many easy to remove spots and stains made much much worse by somebody who tried everything under the sink to remove a stain.  So when you are staring down a spot just take a deep breath and visit I have the answers for you.
